Thanks will check.
Thanks for response, right now I'm trying chin strap and xylitol. Biotene mouthwash was not helpful. The xylitol and chin strap seem to be helping for now but won't know for awhile if affects cavities. Because of my age and periodontal issues not sure if teeth guards would work. I never had the issue before using Amara View mask, but others were hitting bridge of my nose.
Thanks, will Try that. Thought maybe I was missing something by using my Kindle Fire.
Is there any way to search within forums, without reviewing the hundreds of posts?
Just joined the forums. About 3 years ago, I gave up my CPAP for an oral appliance, not sure what kind, but think some type of Tap,as it could be adjusted with a tiny tool. After inital l fitting, I did few minor adjustments, with only minor discomfort. Then had what I thought was really good results, although no way to monitor. Then went back for a follow up Sleep study to confirm it was helping the Apnea. The technician kept tightening the appliance(apparently only to stop my snoring, as the Apnea events were minimal). At completion of that study the appliance had fallen apart. My insurance had changed and balked at letting me return to the prescribing dentist, but finally allowed it. He repaired and reset the appliance but after 2 months of severe discomfort, continual headaches and jaws locking, I had to quit using the appliance. However the jaw, ear pain and headaches continued,,although diminished for another 3 or 4 months. Hope you have better luck, would suggest asking your prescriber Dr for assistance sooner than later.
I've used Amara View for almost 2 years, I also thought was leaking around connector as when I held it, the air noise Seemed to lessen. When my PA reviewed her records which were more detailed than what I get on the Dashboard, she said it wasn't leaking, but this was air from escaping from the safety valve blowing up against whatever was in front of the valve.
Have used CPAP sporadically for more than 20 years. Most recently started Feb 2016 after unsuccessful trial of oral appliance. I use the Airsense 10 with Amara View mask, as larger masks created scar on upper nose. As mouthbreather, dry mouth was an issue and Bioteen is not help so used sugar free hard candy for dry mouth. I have periodontal disease as well as several other autoimmune diseases, but my dentists say my oral hygiene is great. However I still have had at least 20 new or recurrent cavities in last 2 years. Had anyone else with dry mouth had this problem? Or do any of the professionals here know if the sugarless candies would have contributed?
