Both my mother and I have the same c-pap machine, a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset. My c-pap is set up to adjust automatically between 4 to 20. Her c-pap is set up to consistently be at 8. I have been having trouble waking up too early. I'm wondering if maybe some of this early waking is due to the machine shifting from one pressure to another throughout the night. Why would her doctor set the machine up one way and mine another? Is there a preferred way to do it?
Thanks, Eric
The other night I got congested in the middle of the night and I don't know why. I was fine before bed, then when I woke about 4 hours latter I could not breath out of my nose. The congestion went away when I stood up, but would return when I laid back down. I took pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, but I continued to be congested for about 2 hours. Finally the congestion waned and I returned to sleep and was fine all the next day. I do not think it is allergies as that would be longer lasting. This happens every now and then and I don't know what causes it or what to do about it. I'm not even sure if it's related to sleep apnea or my c-pap machine. Thanks for your help.
Thank you for the suggestion Button. I went by Target and got Dr Bronner's 18-in 1 Hemp Baby Unscented Pure-Castle Soap. It does not have an odor which is Great! Dan, what does Antibacterial agents do? Does it break down the plastic of something? I have tried the Ivory concentrated dish washing liquid, and it has the classic scent. Not a bad scent but when it's right up next to your nose all night, I find it overpowering. My therapist said not to use the Dove Sensitive soap because it has moisturizing cream. That the cream would hinder the seal. He also suggested I wash my face before bed as well as the mask. Thanks for all your help.
I am having trouble finding a good soap to use for cleaning the mask because almost all of them have some perfumed scent. They also add a lot of extras like anti-bacterial or moisturizing agents. I would like to find a simple soap that has little to no scent. I find that most soaps have a scent that is just way overpowering to use on the mask because you have that right up next to your nose the whole night. If it does have a bit of a scent, have it be something tolerable, perhaps lavender or something. I was told that Ivory hand soap is good, but I have not been able to find any. I am asking for any suggestion you might have. Thanks
I want to adjust my Cpap machine so I feel more rested. Right now I feel terrible in the morning, as if I had a stiff board and beat myself in the forehead with it a few times. I have an appointment for a home sleep study in a couple weeks but I want to do something right away. I have a Philips Resporonics, Rem Star Pro, C-flex, System One, set on 6 cmH20. After opening up the provider functions using the secret button pushes I am able to do some adjusting. I adjusted the machine from Cpap mode to Auto IQ, the A-trail max from 6 to 11 cmH20, the A-trail min from 4 to 6 cmH20, and the from C-flex mode to A-flex mode.
Thanks so much for your help, Eric
