I am having trouble finding a good soap to use for cleaning the mask because almost all of them have some perfumed scent. They also add a lot of extras like anti-bacterial or moisturizing agents. I would like to find a simple soap that has little to no scent. I find that most soaps have a scent that is just way overpowering to use on the mask because you have that right up next to your nose the whole night. If it does have a bit of a scent, have it be something tolerable, perhaps lavender or something. I was told that Ivory hand soap is good, but I have not been able to find any. I am asking for any suggestion you might have. Thanks

I have found pute Castille soap at Target. It was on an endcap near the toilettries, not with the cleaning supplies.

Something like plain castile soap or Ivory generally works well. My equipment provider and a mask vendor I spoke with both said that plain Ivory dishwashing liquid also works well. Basically, any gentle soap that does not contain antibacterial ingredients should be ok.

Thank you for the suggestion Button. I went by Target and got Dr Bronner's 18-in 1 Hemp Baby Unscented Pure-Castle Soap. It does not have an odor which is Great!
Dan, what does Antibacterial agents do? Does it break down the plastic of something? I have tried the Ivory concentrated dish washing liquid, and it has the classic scent. Not a bad scent but when it's right up next to your nose all night, I find it overpowering. My therapist said not to use the Dove Sensitive soap because it has moisturizing cream. That the cream would hinder the seal. He also suggested I wash my face before bed as well as the mask. Thanks for all your help.

The most mild soap with the least number of additives is always suggested by the mask manufacturers. I think it would be too difficult, if not impossible, to test each of these chemicals against the very fragile mask material. They will likely continue to not recommend anything they can't test for suitability. There is a spray for cleaning masks that is orange based and seems like a good option if you can stand the orange smell at night.

Hi WillingGrayPigeon9262. According to the manufacturers, the antibacterial agents and moisturizers in some soaps cause the mask material to weaken over time. The soap you mention in your last post sounds like a gentle option.
