Pressure is set from range of 7 to 12. Once pressure goes to max, it never seems to decrease. If I wake up and don’t fall back asleep, Ive noticed that the pressure never decreases. I have to turn off machine to get pressure back to a comfortable level. Any suggestions?
My resmed machine does not turn off when I remove mask; it’s been turning off months with no issue.
This is my second machine where I’ve had problems with auto start/stop. When this happened with my last machine; the air pressure would sometimes increase to max and I could only lower by turning the machine off . The machine would then turn itself on and run for hours unattended. My dealer tried to convince me I left machine on.
The problems always began with the same symptom- machine would not turn off . Resmed referred me to dealer. Dealer had me jump through hoops until warranty up and then had no record of my problems .. that’s just an aside . No one claims to have ever heard of problem.
Does anyone know what the issue might be ?
If I use the setting that turns the machine on automatically when you put on mask, I sometimes find that the machine turns itself on arbitrarily during the day and runs unattended. I’ve carefully turned the machine off manually in the morning and found the machine running when I went to bed. The water chamber was very hot. It stopped turning itself off as well when I removed mask in morning which it used to do.
If I turn off the auto on feature, the machine stops turning on by itself when not in use. Unplugging and resetting the machine did not fix .
This is my second resmed machine that seemed to have problems with the auto set feature. Oddly enough, my respiratory supply company said my sleep reports looked normal even without me using the machine so I have no idea what these reports capture.
Anyone else with this experience or recommendation for a reliable machine?
My air pressure increases due to full face mask air leaks. That makes sense. What makes no sense to me is the fact that it stays at max pressure and the only way to get the pressure down, is to turn the machine off.
Clearly, there’s a problem with the algorithm if it stops responding once you correct the air leak. In addition, sometimes my machine will turn off once I remove my mask, sometimes it won’t. Turning the machine off to adjust the pressure is not an option if I’m asleep. Is this a defective machine? I just had it replaced for the same issue. I can’t get a straight answer from resmed or my provider. Having the machine auto adjust to max pressure and then fail to respond to normal breathing and blow the mask off your face can’t be normal.
