Yes you can...turn contrrol to 0 and you have no humidification...if you have the ClimatRight, heated tubing (highly recommend), you can set air temps as well...up to upper/mid 80's.......... madjack
I guess I was just lucky...I researched the heck out of CPAP's and related items and bought the most unobtrusive head gear I could find (resmed p10 nasal pillows). I am also using a halo type chin strap to help with mouth opening while sleeping...I also have "motorboating" thru my mouth and have tried to train my tongue to stick in back of mouth...having dentures has not helped these problems at all...I still have very large air leakage but since my ahi dropped from a +50 to a 1.1, I don't really worry about it...hope you have better luck/results this time around......... madjack
Weirdly, my leakage is fairly massive...I usually get a zero to less than 12 on myair...however, my apneas have dropped from +50 to less than 2 (ahi of 1.1)...so I'm happy and don't worry about it...especially since I have gone from not really sleeping to sleeping 8-10hrs nightly......... madjack
From an insurance companies point of view, compliance, would be 6.5 to 7 hrs usage, daily for 1 to3 mos, depending on the company's policies...practically speaking, it should reduce apnea events to less than 5 per hour(or less)...you sleep more soundly and awake easier...not sure from your question what else you may be looking for............. madjack
p.s. there are health issues related to having apnea such diabetes and heart disease among others. ..google can help you find additional info........mj
Resmed air sense 10 auto set...tis what I use, it does all you ask and I love it...it set up an account, contact that account and sends most sleep data to it for easy access thru internet...or you could just read report off of machine...found clinicians setup on another site which gives me complete control of all settings (beware of this if not completely sure)..oh yeah, if you get this machine, I would highly recommend the "Climate Right" heated hose to go along with it..............madjack
Thanks for mentioning the humidifier. ..I had been running it on high, turned it down to 4 a month back....when I checked it last night it was turned off...don't remember doing that...turned it back up to 4 and everything seems nice and normal this morning...attacked by another senior moment...(-; thanks.........madjack
Thanks for the reply, I am heavily bearded and the only workable solution is nasal pillows since I am NOT shaving, nor am I going with a more intrusive mask setup...I do not think it is mold/mildew since I religiously clean my gear...I have had major hay fever problems most of my life and since I live in the deep South, it may just be an allergy to something blowing out there including going in/out of AC in the house into heat and high humidity outside...what gets me is that it lasts all day long, a problem I didn't used to have thanks again...madjack
First some basic info...I have been on an APAP machine for about 3 mos, it is a Resmed air sense 10 auto set, with a Resmed P10 nasal pillow. I love the machine and my apneas have gone from 50+ to less than 2 per hour, I clean my nose piece daily and the hose weekely. However, I have been having serious problems with stopped up and running sinuses when I awake...I will spend HOURS snerking snorting and sneezing just as soon as I remove the head gear upon awaking in the morning...almost terminally so...has anyone else had similar problems or a suggestion for a cure/relief for this condition........... thanks......... madjack
I knew I had apnea 20 yrs ago and just slept in an elevated position...this was finally not working any longer so, I started doing my due diligence and decided I wanted a Resmed AirSense10AutoSet and that was all I was going to settle for. When I went into the sleep clinic, I told them this from the first words I had with them...I also insisted on a home study for both the first and second study...they tried to pass off a cheaper machine...I told them "hello, have you been listening to me...gimme what I want or I will buy online and get what I wanted"...they gave me what I wanted BUT, they tried to set it up as a basic cpap...I told them it didn't matter what settings they used, I knew how to get into the clinicians setup and what settings I would set..I ignored the tech and set it up as I wanted...after 10 days, I am sleeping 8+hours, and my apneas are down fro over 50 to around 3 per hour and am very happy...the bottom line is do your research on what you want in a machine and mask (mine is a resmed p10)...your insurance is probably going to pay a flat price (mine did) and if they can dump a cheaper machine on you, they will and pocket another 2-3hundred bux........... madjack
...wife and I like to "snuggle" a while before bed...when the final smooch is done, I reach over for my nasal pillows, put them on, adjust my chin strap and head off to lahlah land...I use a Resmed auto start machine so, I do all this without worrying about having to crankup my machine everytime...... madjack
p.s. the resmed also has a ramp up feature...allows you to put mask on and have machine kick on when wanted (basically)........mj
