Ramp pressure correlation to AHI's

My ramp time is set at 45 minutes on my machine. In 67 days on the bipap, I have never seen a recorded AHI during ramp time. Recorded AHI's usually start at the very onset of maximum pressure. It would seem that the software, or my machine is not recognizing them. Does anyone know? Attached is one report.

I am not familiar with this specific software, but I can tell you that most (and probably all) of the machines I have seen data from will detect events while the pressure is ramping. I believe that is what you were asking. It is quite possible that you simply don't have any events in the first 45 minutes of your sleep.

My pressure on a bipap is 25/21 and I have turned off the ramp so I can't tell you. I like it as high as possible as soon as possible as it helps my nasal passages to open up right away and allows me to sleep immediately.

Apparently monitoring on my machine starts at the end of ramp time. From ResMed patient support info.

"In an auto-adjusting device like the AirSenseā„¢ 10 AutoSet or AirCurveā„¢ 10 VAuto, end-of-ramp time is when the auto-adjusting algorithm commences monitoring and responding to your individual breathing patterns."

I did shut off ramp last night. I had more difficulty falling asleep, but it was manageable. I'd rather have a complete record of all sleep time so I will keep it off, or shorten it to a very short time.

That sentence you quoted means that the machine will not adjust its pressure in response to events until the ramp has finished. It does not mean that they are not detected and reported by the software.
