Hi, First post on here and wanting get going with a CPAP machine.
My insurance is great, it’s a catastrophic meaning I have a high deductible and have pay for medical out of pocket unless a major bill occurs. It keeps me more aware of what is charged at a medical provider.
I’ve taken online tests and they say sleep apnea. What’s to keep me from buying a used CPAP machine and just giving it a whirl?
Do I need to spend $400 for a test, when that money could go to the device?
What machines and masks are recommended effectiveness, quality and price?

Where I work the studies are all free, so we don't have to worry about the price of the study, but it is important to have one. A CPAP machine is supposed to be be set specifically for you, which requires a sleep study. Also, you may not have just OSA but there may be other complications involved. I would strongly recommend a study if you can manage to have one.
