My Resmed CPAP is offline now and can't connect the cloud and data. Can anyone help to share the idea?

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with sleep Apnea issue after an overnight sleep study in hospital and have been on CPAP since then from 2015. However, the CPAP I am using almost every night got a problem recently. It shows an offline signal on the screen and I can't get any data from the Redmed "myAir" App anymore. By the way, I am using Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset.

I tried to put the machine anywhere in the house to see if there is the issue of singal receptivity, but it is not the case. I am living in Vancouver, BC. However, the interesting thing is when I travel and stay in WA in States, my CPAP can get the signal to send out the data to my App again. I called the CPAP vendor and they had no idea why this happened.

Does anyone have the same issue if you are using Resmed AirSense 10?

I have the AirSense 10, live in Edmonton, and I don't think I have the issue. But then again, I have not registered for MyAir so have no idea what data is being sent. I do see the bars and lights flashing which is supposed to mean it works, but I have not bothered to check. I use SleepyHead to monitor my results and find that much more useful. I see the following info in the Clinician Manual

"The Wireless signal strength icon displayed at the top right of the screen indicates the signal strength. Advise the patient to check the signal strength on their device. Notes:  Therapy data might not be transmitted if used outside of the country or region of purchase.  Devices with cellular communication might not be available in all regions."

There is also a method to put the device in Airplane mode which shuts off the transmission, but you should get an airplane icon on the screen to indicate it is in that mode.

Sounds to me that it could be a wireless reception issue, or there is a problem with the machine. For what it is worth, there are people who believe this feature is an invasion of their privacy and go to great lengths to disable it. From what I understand it is very difficult and requires machine disassembly to accomplish. There is the airplane mode, but that is a temporary thing, and I think it keeps prompting you to shut it off.

Have you considered using SleepyHead to do your monitoring? I find it much more functional than that MyAir application.

The network provider in your home area might, for some reason, be refusing the device's registration request, which is why it's showing that it has no signal. You can be right next to a cell tower, but if the network doesn't let your device register it will show a No Service condition.

That is a good point. I wonder where this device was bought, and if it was setup properly. If I go into the menu, and right near the bottom under the "About" heading there is a Provider, Type, Service setting. Mine is set to Telus (a Canadian wireless provider), 3G, and 10 (no idea what that means). These machines have a communication port right below the SD card slot. I wonder if they have to be set up at a more basic level than can be done with the Clinical Menu. Perhaps it was never set up to use a Canadian wireless provider, only US...

I am using the Resmed s10 Vauto bipap machine and I don't have any issues like what is being described. Where did you get the machine. Did you get it from Canada? If there is a way to select carriers then you may want to try and connect to a different carrier.
