Cloth covers for CPAP masks

The VA gave me cloth covers for my CPAP mask with the explanation that they would seal the mask better and keep my nose and face from chapping and rubbing issues. The problem is if I fully cover the mask to the top, the extraneous hanging cloth gets in the way of my eyes and irritates them. So, I move the cloth down a bit so that won't happen, but then I get the occasional leak at the top of the mask. An interesting, but not very helpful addition to my gear.

Hi @MartyB. I think @barbz is doing what I have heard a lot of patients do--trim the liners. Some patients actually make their own liners using a soft material like moleskin for a more custom fit.

Hello Marty, there are some mask liners that are available online and they are custom fitted for each mask.

I use mask liners from: http://www.remzzzs.com - they have extra material that fits outside the mask but it doesn't bother me since I shut my eyes when I put the mask on and go to sleep in a couple minutes. I did it because it mitigates the effect of leakage. The padacheek.com products are not mask liners but cover mask straps to avoid chaffing. That issue doesn't effect me either so no need of those but the mask liners are critical as the pressure used on my machine is max and leaks can be extremely annoying without the liners. The mask still leaks but it doesn't whistle and I don't get air in my eyes or leaking at the cheeks. The remzzzs liners can be used 2-3 days before getting out of shape; the cut out enlarges to the point where it doesn't gasket around inside of the mask well enough.
