I started CPAP or APAP three mo tha ago for mild sleep apnea. I definitely get better at first and the myAir app says I’m doing great, yet I still feel tired all day. I still take three hour naps. The worst part is, my RBC count is way up since I started, as is my Hematocrit and my Hemoglobin. I never had an in lab study. I’m scared because I have already had a PE. I can’t even get my sleep doctor to call me back. I am seeing him next week, but does anybody have any idea what is going on with me? I also fill up with air so badly. My machine is set to 6 to 15cm H2O. HELP! I already have a fib too.

The info on what is happening is in the details, Download Sleepyhead [https://www.apneaboard.com/sleepyhead/] and organize your charts to show the following graphs, events, flow rate, flow limits (ResMed), pressure, snore, and leak rate. Also, eliminate the calendar and the pie chart so we can see important info in the left sidebar.

My initial impression is that you may be suffering from aerophagia or air in the stomach. Do you know how to get into the clinical menu? Why? because after I see your charts I'd be tempted to reduce your max pressure but I do not know, without those charts, what your pressure is.

Hi Fred:

I think I downloaded it on my PC, but I don’t understand what I am looking at at all. Could bad settings be messing up my red blood count? My hematologist thinks so. I have been tested for everything under the sun. I have no blood problems.

You need to talk to you doctor about blood results.

If you are concerned about the effect of CPAP and your apnea is only mild you could probably stop using it for a few days until you see your sleep doctor.

chew gum to strengthen your throat alot....and sleep on left side with pillow on your left side...much better than any cpap
