What to do with old equipment

I have an old ResMed CPAP from around 2007 (that's a guess) that hardly got used. I am now with a new CPAP and under the care of a sleep doctor. I have had this old machine and moved it with me four times. I am tired of looking at it in my closet and no one at the DME provider can tell me how to get rid of it. The last time I asked my provider, she said hopefully I could find a missionary who could take it to some third world country because they are really needing them. That is just laughable, and maybe she was making a joke and I was too tired to pick up on it.

Anyway, any suggestions?

IMHO when you have some time set it up as close as you can to your current machine. Why? A backup. What are you going to use if your current machine dies tomorrow night?

If you have a Medical facility in your town who serves patients who are uninsured or underinsured as a ministry or with grant money, you may check with them to see if that may have a use for it.

If you are a little more mercenary you could probably sell it quite easily. There's a roaring trade in second-hand CPAPs.

Good idea to try and sell it. I really have no information on the machine but would anticipate that anybody willing to buy a used CPAP would know what he's doing. It's worth a try. Thanks
