My wife and I both have Resmed S8 CPAPs. Our switch pads stopped working and we did the plugging and unplugging thing for a while. Recently we both wanted to reduce our air pressure and in order to do so we actually had to shut the machine off using the key pad so that we could get into the Clinical menu.

I searched and read a lot of forums and tried the cleaning with alcohol, sanding the contacts, etc. I finally ordered some conductive paint because... what did I have to loose.

I am here to tell you that it worked like a champ! For $13 I bought a small container of conductive paint. My wife applied it to the tips of the keys using a toothpick. It doesn't take much. They both work like a champ now. We are back to using the key pad to turn them on and off and get through the menus.

I actually joined this forum to let others know that this worked for me. It was a simple, effective, and inexpensive fix.

Thanks for taking the trouble Rockethound.

It is very much appreciated and I'm sure it will benefit other users as time goes on.

It's certainly not something I would have thought of trying.

Thank you for posting. My wife has a S8. I will keep your fix in mind. If I still have one when her S8 starts to act up!
