APAP and burping

A couple of years ago, I switched to APAP, thinking it would be more precise, and also cure my occasional burping issues. Well, in the last week, I've been awakened twice because of burping. Last night, when I checked my pressure during this episode, it was at 19! I've never been prescribed higher than 15, so I'm sure it was too high. But, why? Something wrong with the machine? Could it be my chin strap is too loose? (It doesn't feel like it.) Could my nose be stuffy without me realizing it? I don't get it. What should I do?

From my experience, when that happened to me my pressure was too high. That forced air into my diaphragm and the only way to get rid of it was to burp it out. It was very uncomfortable! Once the pressure was adjusted the problem went away.

It is normally caused by higher pressures. The fact that your APAP is going to 19 cm indicates that the machine thinks you need that much pressure. It also indicates that the upper pressure limit has been left at the default 20 cm. You may want to consider downloading SleepyHead to view your data and see what is actually going on.
