My husband has sleep apnea and plmd. He has been taking pramipexole for about a year now. However, it now seems to be affecting his sleep negatively. He wakes up at about 3 a.m. every morning and can't fall back asleep. I know insomnia is a side effect of this drug. Has anyone had success with Gabapentin? I know that that actually is supposed to increase good quality sleep. He usually takes the medications about 4 or 5 nights a week as to not become completely dependent.

Hi renrenbri

I'm also looking for a treatment for PLMD and RBD and hesitant to try most of the medications out there.

If you find any answers I'd love to hear about it.

I have appointments in the next few weeks with a sleep specialist and a neurologist but I don't expect any real solutions.

I've been wondering if the solution might not lie in winding things up during the day rather than winding down during the night.
