The other night I got congested in the middle of the night and I don't know why. I was fine before bed, then when I woke about 4 hours latter I could not breath out of my nose. The congestion went away when I stood up, but would return when I laid back down. I took pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, but I continued to be congested for about 2 hours. Finally the congestion waned and I returned to sleep and was fine all the next day. I do not think it is allergies as that would be longer lasting. This happens every now and then and I don't know what causes it or what to do about it. I'm not even sure if it's related to sleep apnea or my c-pap machine. Thanks for your help.

What are your machine settings? What mask? How is your supply tubing routed? Has there been a change in weather; especially wind direction recently? Lots of things can cause congestion and just not enough info to even guess. Heck, is it time to clean the filter on your machine or the water tank or the house heater filter?

The causes of congestion can sometimes be difficult to pinpoint. I seem to experience congestion with extreme weather changes, when my allergies flare up, or if my nasal passages get too dry and start to swell. It might be worth talking to your doctor about if it continues to happen. For me, a steroid nasal spray seems to help keep things under control.

Person asked five days ago now and hasn't followed up. Curious.
