Hi,
Have just been diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and am awaiting the delivery of my CPAP machine (AHI average of 15 but peaking at 40). Was wondering how big an increase in energy levels/wellbeing people who have similar severity felt when they began to use CPAP to treat their apnea?
Benefits seem to vary from person to person. You should expect some discomfort and and adjustment period to get used to sleeping with the CPAP. That can offset the benefits initially, but most get used to it, and end up with a better sleep. If you are looking for some tips on how to set the machine up for the most comfort, then post back with the machine brand and model, and the mask you plan to use.
I don't recall noticing a "WOW!" moment, what I do notice is if I take a nap or fall asleep without using the machine I really feel groggy, tired and confused.
I have been using a CPAP for over five years so my "before" memories are faint. I notice when I don't use it.

Do you know if you will be using a CPAP or an APAP? I was diagnosed decades ago and have struggled for years attempting to adhere to the PAP therapy. It was only recently since setting my machine on the automatic setting that I noticed a huge change. My scores before changing to the automatic setting were almost non-existent and now they range from 80-90 most nights. I do notice that the higher my nightly scores are the better I feel.
