Hi all,

I've had a few nights now with the CPAP machine. Initially it seemed as though it was going to be a silver bullet since my wife said I slept without snoring and I certainly woke up feeling much more rested than I've felt for ages. I have a few questions, however:

Firstly, I have red marks where my full-face mask sits on my cheeks along the line from my nose to my mouth. It lasts all day and I feel quite self-conscious about this. Any tips on how to avoid the redness altogether or lessen it in the morning?

Secondly, did anybody buy their machine and mask second-hand? At the moment I'm renting a machine, but was wondering if there is a reputable second-hand company that certifies, etc, that would have cheaper machines.

I'd really appreciate any advice. Cheers.

The marks probably indicate you have the mask adjusted too tight. There are cloth mask liners you can buy or make yourself with t-shirt material. No personal experience but I believe Second Wind CPAP is a reputable company for second hand, and new machines.

I've made a number of purchases through 1800CPAP and not regretted any of them.
