Hello. I am 1 1/2 weeks into having my BiPAP and I am sleeping so much better! I was given a ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto with heated tubing and am using a ResMed AirFit P10 Nasal Pillow. I was having over 90 events an hour and have had from 3.1 to 10.9 an hour so far! I am no longer tired all day and I don’t feel that fog in my brain from being so sleep deprived. I’ve read it takes 3 months to fully recover from years of bad sleep so I’m looking forward to seeing how I feel at the end of May.

After doing my first full clean a couple days ago I was wondering if cleaners are worth it? They had one in the office at Fairway Medical but the guy that went thru all of the equipment with me didn’t offer me one, so I am assuming my insurance doesn’t cover it. But if a cleaner is a good purchase I’ll find out and get one either way.

Hi KennyAZ

I haven't used one but I get the impression from browsing this forum that they are almost irrelevant, however, if you can afford one and it makes you feel good then it has served some purpose already!

My thoughts are that a cleaner is not worth it, and the ozone may even damage your equipment. The CPAP manufacturers does not recommend using them. I rinse my hose, mask, and humidifier reservoir with pure vinegar, then add some Dawn dish soap to get some detergent action. Next I rinse with tap water until the soapy water is all gone. Last hang up to drip dry during the day.

If it is recommended by your doctor and it helps you, then it's great, glad you finally get some sleep. The constant lack of sleep can drive you crazy, I understand.

I have had mine for almost a year now and I cleaned mine once a week and have not had any ill effects. I do how ever rinse the water tray every morning because I noticed the old water can get nasty quickly

None of the C-PAP Cleaners are FDA Approved from what I read. Many people have trouble with the Ozone cleaners but the one that cleans using UV may be an option. Most people just clean them as instructed in the manual that comes with your machine.
