Brand new CPAP user. Still trying to get used to the mask and have only tried sleeping with it on 3 times. The day after using it these three times, my blood pressure is extremely high. I am on medication for high blood pressure and track my pressure daily at home. I check it in the morning and at night and this morning for example, it is alarmingly high and used the CPAP machine last night.

Has anyone heard of this before? I'm scared to keep using the CPAP machine it if it's actually causing these spikes in blood pressure.

Thanks

I have had high blood pressure for a number of years and on cpap therapy 9 months. i was weened off of my medication after 3 months of therapy. In my case cpap therapy helped eliminate my high pressure. I monitor my pressure a few times a week. i would make you sleep doctor aware of your situation.

I agree with Manny. I think it is less common to see increased blood pressure unless the CPAP use is causing anxiety. It is more common that blood pressure might be lower in the morning after waking up. Please do consider contacting your physician for advice.
