Hi... er... Mantis.

I can tell you that in certain instances, adding some supplemental oxygen to VPAP (or CPAP) can have very positive results. It's a very individual thing. Do you have a specific question about it? I don't use it myself, but I do use it with a significant number of my patients.

Appreciate your response, My prescription is for 2 L, Only been using it for a week but apparent benefit is reduction of high AHI spikes, Wonder if Further improvement Might be achieved By increasing to 3 or 4 L

It is possible that a further increase could result in further improvement. It is important that any adjustment is done in careful consultation with a respiratory specialist. Increasing oxygen can cause an increase in carbon dioxide levels which can be harmful. Having said that, as it is being added to your VPAP that should help minimise the risk of such a thing occurring. Still, always be careful with oxygen.

Have had 02 therapy for about 6 months. I found that the benefits of the 02 took about a month or so to be noticable. My skin had gotten very very dry, and I had really bad hangover headaches without any party.

If after month, you don't have the results you expected, try adjusting the 02 level by .5 liters. And try to keep your doctor in the loop please. If you haven't had a blood oxygen level test during sleep with the 02, you might want to ask for one. But you should own an oximeter and check your own level upon waking. EBay often has them cheaper than the drugstore.

Good luck.
