Can't adjust my CPAP below 17

I had surgery on my nose to open up the passage ways and now the pressure is too high. I tried adjusting the pressure but when is gets to 17 it bounces back up to 20 and starts all over again. It will take a month to get a new sleep study and appointment with the doctor and I need to use the machine. I followed all the instructions to adjust pressure but won't let me go below 17. Resmed Series M Auto. Anyone have ideas on how to get these units to repond?

First, not sure what a ResMed Series M Auto is. A quick google indicates it may be a Philips Respironics machine not ResMed. In any case, can't help with modifying your pressure but that pressure was the result of a prescription and you should likely call your doctor and explain the situation with the surgery to see if they can make a more immediate change to the pressure, if indicated.

The M series is indeed a Respironics machine. If that is what you have it will be small, black, and the tube connects at the back. It is not the simplest thing to adjust because it uses and icon based interface which is not easy to understand. I really don't like the idea of people changing their own pressure because that can lead to all sorts of problems. I agree with Wiredgeorge. Contact you Dr and get them to authorise a short-term fix. Since you have an auto they should be able to simply lower its minimum pressure and let it do its thing until you have your study.
