May 2022 UPDATE

It's been 2 months since I last posted. I've kept the same settings for 60 days and have had good results.

AHI: 2.4 (even had one night AHI=0.90!)

Large Leak: <2.0%

% Minutes in Apnea: < 1%

Sleep Efficiency: >90%

Sleep Latency: <9 minutes

I feel rested when I wake up, even though I'm still averaging just 6 hrs of sleep. Most importantly, I've only had 1 parasomnia event in a month vs 9/month when I started CPAP 2 months ago.

I credit these results to the advice and guidance I received on this website, particularly from Sierra. I feel like I've got my life back. Thank you so much!

It is good to hear that you are making good progress. An acceptable goal for AHI is less than 5.0. It looks like you have made it. When dealing with both OA and CA at the same time it is more difficult. The best pressure setting tends to be a compromise.

Hi jewelsav

I admire your efficiency and persistence.

I am far from being an expert on anything, let alone RBD which is tangled up with so many other obscure disorders.

Pseudo RBD would be a nice outcome, if it truly exists, but the arguments they use to justify the label seem a bit convoluted.

As you imply earlier, symptoms fluctuate of their own accord and in response to many things.

Severe Apnea causes serious stress, CPAP also causes stress, and they compound other factors that also increase stress.

Stress is a powerful trigger for many disorders, including RBD

It's good that you have found a pathway to firmer ground.

Hopefully, it will inspire others to emulate the methods you use to find answers.
