Well recently I found out that I've started snoring...

Which is new development for me...

I've been told in the past that I snore once in a great while... Usually after a night of drinking etc...

But now apparently since I quit smoking 3+ months ago that now I snore like a wild maniac! Apparently I even snore if I'm sleeping on my stomach... Which I thought was physically impossible!

Strange that quitting smoking started me snoring, when I was under the impression that it's supposed to work the other way around?

I've searched the web and only managed to come up with a bunch of stop smoking ads, and the usual clap-trap about how snoring works, but nothing that helps to any real degree...

I figured I'd see if any of you bro's had experience or knowledge on snoring and any possible remedies to look into... Or Possible causes?

Short answer: weight loss is the best cure. It doesn't work for every one but it does for many. Failing that, CPAP is a very reliable way of stopping snoring. I'm unaware of anything else that is.

You are on a Sleep Apnea forum, do you have Apnea? Do you have a CPAP? Snoring is one of the symptoms of Obstructive Apnea.

The starting point would be to complete a quiz to find out if you are at risk for sleep apnea. You can find many on the net, but here is a link to one from Phillips who make PAP machines.

Some people can train themselves to sleep on their side. It won't fix the problems that cause snoring but it should lessen the snoring and buy you some time.
