I hate mine as well and totally get where you are coming from
I had to tell someone at work to stop making fun of my mask and the fact I have to wear it the other day. I explained that I am very supportive of them and maybe they should return the favour.
Just remember the mask helps you with a medical condition, it's doesn't define you or impact you being a beautiful person.
Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I will talk to my clinic about options when I return for my first months checkup
I am from the UK and we tend to get set on a method of treatment rather than offer alternatives
So with the ahi of .1 do you really still need the cpap machine?
What sort of readings were you getting before and after?
Did it help your osa?
Does anyone know if it's possible to get really low readings with a cpap but the machine not to be catching all events?
The reason I ask was my diagnosis readings was 80.09 and I am now averaging 1.2 with the cpap machine. I am only managing 4 hours average a night because I am still having difficulties with the machine and I have now developed dreams of suffocation which are waking me and forcing me to take the mask off in a panic attack.
So my question is with such good results/low events is there anyway to know if the machine is catching everything? Could I be experiencing more events than the machine is recording or am I just over thinking things?
Any advice would be welcome
Hi
I have had my machine now for a week, I installed sleepyhead today and my figures for the week were
Apnea hypopnea index 0.61 Obstructive index 0.13 Hypopnea index 0.13 Clear Airway index 0.36
Average pressure 6.01 90% pressure 7.78
Looking thought the daily figures my majority of readings are in the clear airway index and I have almost none in the obstructive or hypopnea index. Does anyone know if this is good/bad, is it normal? What is the clear airway reading?
Thanks in advance
Has anyone else been diagnosed with hypertrophic inferior turbinates? I had this confirmed today and wondered if anyone else had this together with an OSA diagnosis?
It's a ResMed AirSense 10 (autoset)
It's in autoset mode starting at 4 with auto ramp set on
I will see if I can crack the machine to see the prescription, I am using a resmed autofit. I am from the Uk. The model is definitely a favourite of the hospital I went to as a friend has the same model
