I have been using a ResMed AirSense 10 Augoset device with a Swift Fx Nasal Pillow for several months now. Sometimes I put it on and everything's fine. The air flows smoothly in and out of the pillow... quite quietly almost like I wasn't wearing it.
Other times, I put it on and I feel like I'm having trouble getting enough air out of it and it's noisy. It hisses. Don't understand what could cause the difference. I'm not congested... I keep the air in the room consistently humidified with a humidifier. I have the ramp set to 45...
But why would the same system work one way one day and completely different another?
Any insights would be appreciated:)
Wow-- Thank you, Sierra. That really helped!. I was able to follow the instructions and actually used the system last night. Excellent!
This may seem basic but I have been having trouble getting enough air in to my lungs through the tube on my ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset device. I use a Swift Fx Nasal Pillow system. My ramp is set to off and the range is 6-10. Nothing's changed in the last few days but for some reason the last two nights when I put it on and try to breathe I'm just not getting enough air as if I'm breathing through a straw... I end up taking it off and not using it all night.
Wondering if anyone else has had an experience like this and if there's any solution?
Thanking you in advance...
Hello, friends.
I've been using the CPAP machine now for 3 months and I still get nights with a LOT of apneas. What's wierd is that it seems to be completely unpredictable. Some nights it's 1 event per hour and some as high as 13. Can anyone explain why there would be such a difference? Do people on CPAP machine ever reduce the number of apneas permanently?
Thanking you in advance....

When I first put on my nasal pillow mask (I have the ResMed AirSense 10 with a Swift Fx Nasal Pillow system) I seem to have trouble breathing. It feels like I'm not getting enough air in to my nose. I have ramp turned off... and the pressure seems to be about 9.1. Is there any way of increasing it?
I don't see any way of doing it. Is this something the Sleep Clinic can do?
Thank you.
Thank you, guys. I appreciate the tips!
Wow, thanks for your very full reply. I have a ResMed AirSense 10 device with a Swift Fx Nasal Pillow system. I wonder if that makes any difference?
Hello,
I have been using a CPAP machine now for a month and every now and then my nasal pillow seems to "click" when I inhale. The clicking seems to be something in the pillow "snapping" or moving. It happens unpredictably every now and then but is disturbing to my sleep. I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience like this and whether there's a solution?
I've been using my ResMed AirSense10 device for 2 weeks now and I had the following problem when I got up to go to the bathroom last night:
I turned the device off, using the power button on the top of the unit. I took my headset off. Went to the bathroom Came back and put the headset back on. Turned unit on - and it would be blowing too hard. My understanding is that when you turn it off and back on it should ramp up again from low pressure. I kept toggling the power button and it wouldn't reset. When I tried to adjust the ramp, I noticed that it was greyed out. I couldn't adjust it.
Does anyone have advice about this? Why would the ramp option be greyed out?
