There wasn't one in the machine - I just double checked. Question. This is a new machine, since I was having all the leak issues, they thought maybe my other machine was having issues with the blower. (It was still under warranty). Fingers crossed it's the machine and not me having the leaks.
I have all but last night's data downloaded to sleepyhead from the old machine. Will a new SD card (once I get one) just add to that data? I wasn't sure how that worked.
Hello- Just did a warranty exchange for a new CPAP and accidentally left my SD card in the machine I turned in. I definitely need a new one, but wanted to check on what size is recommended. Thanks!
So, sleeping on your side can knock the mask, but sleeping on your back can cause the air to escape through the mouth........ Where does that leave me? :) Seems like I may have an issue any way I sleep....... :/
I just don't get why it's changed from the first year, though. Same situation, same mask, except that I didn't always wear the tape then.
I did play with the straps last night and my leak numbers were better - over 24, but still in the 20's at least. I also changed the EPR back to 3, but can't remember if I changed it to all the time or just at ramp. I didn't have time to check it all this morning, but have to check what pressure I went up to. Still waking up a lot during the night, though :/
I don't want to chance something like that, since I definitely have displaced discs with my TMJ, and it hasn't been hurting lately and I don't want to rock the boat.
I wrote a few weeks ago about how high my leaks were getting, and no matter what I do, they seem to be getting worse. What makes it frustrating is that at my sleep titration (with pressure of only 9, however), they said I didn't leak at all - even with the exact same style mask I've been using.
First year, leaks were always under 24. Then this year came along, and they started getting higher - never below 24. My doctor increased my pressure from 6-10 to 9-15, since I was still tired and having a lot of RERAs, and now my leaks are at a low, 32, and all the way up to 42. I even tried a different mask - the P10 nasal pillow mask, instead of the dreamwear nasal I've been using, and it was up to 37. And, I totally tape my mouth at night, so I don't think it's that.
I know the higher pressure now (usually around 12, vs the 10 I started with) could make it worse, but how do you balance what your body needs to not wake and have respiratory events all night with leaking? I can't do a full face (tried the other night) because it pushes on my jaw, and I have TMJ/displaced discs.
Help - just at a loss, extremely tired ever day to where I have to go out to my car and take naps during work, and I'm not sure where these leaks are coming from. As I said, the first year with the same style mask, I had no issues at all (though was tired because of the RERAs)
How can you tell if they're leaking? And, you mean the actual reservoir?
Hmmmm - I thought I read last year that setting an EPR of 3 was better for AHIs? I changed mine to be not just during ramp a couple days ago, and the first night my leak was actually down to 12!! But, back up last night......... Darn - guess I should change it again? I had it at 3 on ramp only, which I remember at the time did lower my AHIs
Hi- I'll see if I can get the leak line tonight. If so, and if I have a ton over 24 (which I'm thinking I might), how can they be addressed? I know that the increased pressure must be causing some of them, but the over 24L started well before the pressure change...... So frustrating. I just want to feel rested. Too many Respiratory Events, even when my AHI is low :/
Oh my gosh - you sound exactly like me! I've been using my CPAP about a year. First year, low leakage. All of a sudden, my leaks are up in the 30's, and two weeks ago my doctor increased my pressure from 6-10 to 9-15, and my leaks are now in the 30's to 40's. Same as you, my mouth is SO dry, even though I'm taping each night. I don't get it. I've been using the same type mask the whole time. Why start leaking now?
Why did your doctor change your EPR? If you find anything to help, let me know. I just want to feel rested!
