i am not trying to silence anyone i am just expressing an opinion, i have heard a lot of stories about cpap over the last two years, been given a lot of bad advice, have you not heard of freedom of speech, if you can not have that, well whats the purpose of this site. so doctor if you are reading this i am sorry if i was offensive and wiredgeorge to you also.
i do not wish to sound harsh , but are you not promoting your own business here, i was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea two years ago had a ahi of 56 within an hour now down to between 1-4,so cpap seems to be working, still feel tired most mornings but hey dont we all even those of you out there that are not on cpap therapy, i was never even given the chance to use an oral apllication, but i can tell you this when i do get a good nights sleep i am full of energy , but the machine has become part of my life. so please help people with cpap. DONT PROMOTE YOUR OWN BUSINESS.
thank you so much for your reply.
well i waited for weeks to see my resporoligist excuse the spelling, my doctor referred me to this guy two years ago i was diagnosed by him with severe sleep apnea i stopped breathing fifty six times within an hour, so he put me on cpap at the start i had a whole load of shit going down leaks not sleeping dry nose and mouth, so i asked him two years ago what would happen if i did not go on cpap, his reply you will die scared me , went to see him last week gold star thats all he could say to me, i felt like a kid i was in his office less than five minutes omg what a state of affairs this country when nobody cares or nobody wants to know scared of going to sleep incase i dont wake up what do you guys think ,i now have a AHI between 1 to 4.
yes here we go again, you guys are probably thinking, but i have read a few posts on the subject of dry mouth and felt i had to comment, i asked my doctor about this he suggested more humidification, so i did still woke up with dry mouth and nose have a bottle of water by my bedside, still getting woke up due to the fact of having to piss, tried biotene mouth spray, still dry mouth.got told by my cpap provider that i breath through my mouth and my mouth probably does open up when i sleep have a full face mask, and my leak rate is low before you all start asking.when i started therapy two years ago, my ahi levels where high i stopped breathing 56 times within an hour, still not sleeping to well but my ahi is now well under five, therefore the treatment is working i think lol, and i am very grateful to my doctor for diagnosing me, and sending me for a sleep test, i used to waken up three to four times a night now it is about once i go to bed about 9:30 and waken up about 4:30, i just wanted to share my story with you guys because since starting my therapy i have felt so alone with this little set back in my life, but joining this forum and venting have helped, and if there are any doctors out there reading this come up with a solution for the dry mouth and nose i would be a happy chappy. sleep well my friends.
try the heated tubing it worked for me , increase it by one digit a time and you will find the setting that works for you, sleep well my friend.
thank you for your advice, sleep well my friend.
i have been on cpap for two years, it takes time to adapt as for the nausea it could be some other issue i do not no i am not a doctor. all i know is you have good nights and bad nights,is your mask fitting properly, are you getting enough pressure, when you say they, do you mean your doctor,i felt that way when i first started cpap and as i say hang in there and give it a shot, how severe is your apnea, wishing you well my friend.
thank you for your help in this matter.
