Our publicly funded broadcasting outlet in Canada, CBC, has started a short series of more in depth coverage of sleep disorders. You can see them for a limited time on line. They did the second in the series last night and the first the night before. In the first one they covered the impact of sleep on memory. In the second they got into the issue of apnea and diagnosis. Kind of light and fluffy stuff, but perhaps of interest to those like us that are suffering from the disorders. Here is the link to the site where you can view the material. You may have to hunt around for it a bit, as it is only about 10-15 minutes out of the one hour National News program. I believe it starts at about the 30 minute mark. However, there seems to be no way around being bombarded by several commercials... The ones from Jan 21 and 22 have the content. There is supposed to be another tonight.

Thanks for the invitation. It doesn't seem to be available to watch in the States. I would love to see it if you hear that it is available through another resource.

Interesting. Perhaps Canada is the new North Korea! It may be a broadcasting rights issue. I watched it last night, and it is interesting but not something to get real excited about. I think there may be some what of a continuation next week, and there was some mention of it being available as a podcast, which I think is a section of the show. I don't see it now, but will watch for it. However it may be limited to Canada too...

Here is a link to an article based on the TV segment about sleep disorders. Hopefully the link works. The claim is made, without backup that I could fine, that 80% of those with sleep apnea in Canada are undiagnosed. The video segments are embedded in the article, but they may not play outside of Canada...

If you google CBC youtube sleep it should bring up a number of the CBC National reports on sleep. Not sure if they will work in other countries though...
