The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) is in the process of updating its ‘Practice Parameters for the Surgical Modifications of the Upper Airway for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Adults’. An important step in the guideline development process is to get input from stakeholders who may be impacted by the guideline, including patients. The AASM has developed a survey to help identify and prioritize outcomes that are important to patients. The survey is also designed to assess which adverse events (temporary or permanent) must be avoided or are temporarily tolerable, when considering surgical treatments.
Who should complete this survey? We are interested in adult OSA patients who have either undergone surgical treatment for OSA or were offered surgical treatment but declined, as well as healthcare providers who have performed surgical treatment of adult patients with OSA.

The survey should take less than 15 minutes to complete. Please note that your responses will only be used by AASM staff and the expert panel developing the guideline. We will not disclose or share your information. We ask that this survey be completed by Monday, October 16th. Thank you in advance for contributing to the future of sleep medicine.
