Sleep apnea care often doesn’t match patient needs and priorities. That’s why a small team of patient leaders and researchers led by Dr. Susan Redline want to hear from you: sleep apnea patients. What would make you satisfied with your diagnosis and treatment? What do you expect from your treatment? What are your concerns? By talking directly to patients, we can design new, patient-centered ways to diagnose and treat sleep apnea.
The study design is based off a market research tool called ‘voice of the customer’. The idea is to learn what customers think about a product and use their feedback to make the product more useful and appealing. In this project, the customer is sleep apnea patients. The product we want to improve is your care. Our research team will be talking to 25 patients in Boston and the USA to do just that.
