I am a mouth breather even though I have worked hard to train myself otherwise. I manage well through the waking hours but not during sleep. I have had Sleep Apnea for decades and still struggle with a mask. I recently discovered a hybrid called TapPap. It is a dental component and nasal pillows combination. I enhanced it with a mouth shield accessory piece from Dr. Arthur Luisi in Naples, Florida. MyAir scores have been more consistently higher since using the TapPap and the accessory mouth shield. I have even hit 100 on a couple of occasions which is quite an accomplishment for me!
I use TapPap. I am still getting adjusted to it and just received the internal mouthpiece from Dr. Luisi. The additional insert is helping as I am a mouth breather naturally but have been working to change that.
Thanks for sharing what is working for you! Good to know!
I do love my DreamWear Nasal Cushion mask.
We would love feedback from patients, those who may have SA but undiagnosed, and caregivers on the ASAP site. We have worked to create a site designed with patients in mind. The hope is that patients will find it user friendly and easy to understand. Please do share any and all feedback.
Wow, every two weeks sounds not necessary to me. I agree with Sierra.
I have been a Sleep Apnea Patient for decades and still struggle with keeping a mask on all night. I have tried many different masks and dental devices. Whatever it is, it's not on me when I wake. MyAir numbers vary daily due to this issue. I am also tracking with Oscar. I recently had a Dr. acquaintance who suggested that I may need C-PAP plus medication or CPAP plus Positional Therapy or oral appliance plus medication. I need to visit with my provider about those options. There is something that is causing my body to pull off the mask or oral appliance during the night. Maybe I don't get into a deep enough sleep? I will say that moving my settings to automatic has helped significantly.
Phillips has a new Positional Sleep Apnea Device that can be used as a treatment for some types of Sleep Apnea. It is much more than a pillow and tracks your sleep.
I have a Tap 3 but I am not sure what you mee by out of adjustment?
