I do like my Dreamwear Nasal Pillow Mask as the hose comes out of the top. It is totally out of the way.
Sierra, I learn so much from you! Thank you for the time you put into answering and sharing your amazing knowledge.
Thanks to all for sharing your experiences! I have Oscar downloaded but need to get an SD card for my machine! Garmin Vivoactive 4 sounds good too. However large is it? Do you have challenges sleeping with it on?
Ceppos, thank you for your feedback. I have been encouraging my son to hold off until it is more perfected or other treatments become available. I hate all of that happened to you. Anytime you go under anesthesia there is a risk.
BigFootBitMe, I think as you note that the right CDB oil could certainly help you get to sleep and relax you. However, CBD oil will not remedy sleep apnea. Hopefully, if you are diagnosed with SA, you have a treatment in place to address that.
So Tired, I completely understand your dilemma. I have struggled with CPAP for almost 30 years. I most assuredly feel better when I can get in 4-6 hours with it but sleep so much better without it. I usually start with it on but sometime during the night, I pull it off. It has helped by switching to an automatic setting. I would highly recommend trying that. I do better with the nasal pillow mask. I have tried too many masks to count over the last decades and that is what I keep coming back to. I have also tried dental devices that I find on the floor when I wake. I have had several surgeries in the early days. It has been a lifetime struggle. However, I don't think I would be here today if I had not kept trying to use it at least some each night. I do play a beat my score game with the "MyAir" results from one night to the next. That makes me a little more compliant. All of that being said, there are new therapies coming and one such that has arrived which is known as Positional Therapy. This is not like the old pillows method that you really don't know if it works or not but an FDA Approved Positional Device that is put out by Phillips Respironics. My best advice: Keep on keeping on.
I recently ordered a Tap Pap from www.thecpapshop.com. You may check there.

Melatonin is a great recommendation!
1) Should I tell my boss? I work for a great company and a great boss, just do not know if its good or bad to tell him. Its a huge world wide company and treats employees really well.
Once you are being successfully treated, I would suggest telling your boss because you are going to feel better and have a story to tell. I think that many large companies could benefit tremendously by educating their employees about sleep and particularly the dangers of Sleep Apnea. They would have a much healthier workforce. You may be able to influence the company in that direction.
4) I have always been a life long mouth breather, she recommends a mask to cover mouth and nose. Any recommendations on a mask. I sleep on my back or roll to my left side, usually only to reduce my snoring. I would assume I could sleep on my back full time now. Does this impact where the hose connects or type of mask. I saw several options in the office, but the office is closed now and only doing phone calls.
If you can tolerate a full face mask that would be best. I am also a mouth breather but I have been working on proper breathing which has been very helpful. I started with a Kindle Book entitled "How to Breathe: The Symptoms If You Get It Wrong, and How to Fix It" by Sally Gething. You may find that helpful as well. I use a nasal mask. Before I started working with my breathing, I used a chin strap to keep my mouth closed. Some people also do mouth taping.
The most important thing is to keep on keeping on until you get some relief and start to feel better. I know you want your life back!
