You can never have too many options when it comes to headgear.

Some people can train themselves to sleep on their side. It won't fix the problems that cause snoring but it should lessen the snoring and buy you some time.

I've changed my mind about the frequency of replacing gear.

I reckon that if someone else was paying I'd want at least 3 masks per year till they figure out how to make some really good ones.

Not because they wear out but because most sufferers have so much trouble finding one that works properly.

I don't think the sleep study processes are an exact science however you do them.

It's been years since I did a home study but I had a clear impression at the time that what the 'expert' did when he/she received the data from the device was simply select the highest density of apnea data and trimmed off the build up and trail off data before they started counting and measuring.

If that impression is correct then they can effectively 'see' when you were really asleep.

I presume there must be a minimum acceptable frame for such data but it may be as low as an hour or two.

I really should ask some of the more difficult questions.

How old are you?

Are you gaining weight?

Are you under significant stress?

Have you discussed other causes of fatigue with your doctor?

I am not implying that CPAP or dental devices would not benefit you because anything that disrupts your sleep will have cumulative effects, and snoring is a pretty strong indicator in itself, but your sleepiness symptoms seem excessive enough to suspect additional causes.

Was the machine dry when you left it there?

I would take the humidifier container out and make sure the chamber it sits in and the inside of the lid are clean and change the intake filter then just do a slightly better than normal clean on the rest of the gear in a clear space with lots of light and maybe even a tooth brush and cotton tips for some detailing.

If you have the budget and opportunity it may be worth buying a new air hose.

I would also run the machine for a few mins before using the mask.

I know there is a fixation here with Sleepyhead software and this device may incorporate into that software or it may not.

But it doesn't matter to me because I don't want a mass of data to figure out or complex patterns to study.

I just want to be able to check a few things from time to time no matter where I am or what I am doing.

For me the Oxygen turned out to be fine but my Blood Pressure has been going down steadily over the past few months and I don't know why.

I stopped taking my blood pressure medication and it just kept dropping. It doesn't make a lot of sense but I'll get it figured eventually I suppose.

I think the Resmed S9 might have a bit more storage than that before it overwrites. When I get a chance I will take another look. Not that it matters because they must be all near the end of their lives by now.
