I have been using a Resmed Air Sense 10 for 9 months. The last time I ordered tubing they sent a heated one. No problems. However I got a cold about 3 months ago, then shingles, and a cough has persisted ever since. Doc treated me for bronchitis but cough is still there. Worse in afternoon/evening, not too bad at night. Ive had a chest xray and chest CT and both were normal. Could this cough be caused by my CPAP therapy?? I empty the reservoir every morning, use distilled water... Ive got the humidity set on 4, never had a problem before but I was using it in dry winter weather. It is hot and humid here now, in the summer. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.
Thanks, between you and wiredgeorge, I understand this better!
Thanks, that does make sense. My L/min are usually under 24. Not sure why I got a 0 score for last night. I think my L/min was under 30.
Hello, I have been using a Resmed Air Sense 10 for 2 weeks or so. Doing well in general, but have trouble getting consistent mask seal scores. Last night my mask seal was 0/20, yet my AHI was reported at 0.6. **Will the AHI score be accurate if the mask seal is really bad, or does mask seal have no effect on the machine's ability to record AHI accurately? Thanks for any insight! Tracy
Thank you so much!
My recent sleep study report did not mention central apnea as a concern. I've been reading about how CPAP therapy can sometimes cause that, sometimes temporarily. Does anyone have experience with this? Would the AHI number increase on my nightly sleep reports, even with a good mask seal? I don't mean to borrow trouble but wonder what to watch for....?
Ok thank you. So if my AHI stays low like it is, do I need to try a chin strap and "fret" over getting a better mask leak score?
Hello, I'm new to this forum and one week into CPAP therapy. I check my score every morning. I use a nasal mask. My sleep study AHI was 28. My overall sleep score on therapy has been between 86 and 92. The mask leak score is my lowest, usually 9/20. My AHI is between 1 and 2 on therapy. Question: How much should I worry about the mask leak score, as long as my AHI is 1 or 2? I dont want to get obsessed with the darn mask fit. Subjectively, I feel much more rested and energetic during the day (never really had daytime sleepiness). Thanks! Tracy
